Shedua/Ovangkol

Shedua is a striking West African hardwood known for its rich golden-brown color dramatically veined with dark chocolate to black streaks. The bold, ribboned grain and natural luster give finished pieces a luxurious, high-contrast appearance often compared to fine exotic rosewoods — without being a true rosewood.

Dense, strong, and highly durable, Shedua offers excellent wear resistance and stability. It machines cleanly, turns beautifully, and polishes to a deep satin glow, making it a favorite for fine furniture, instrument parts, knife scales, and premium craft work.
